Stockport Metro Synchro travelled to the Combo Cup competition at London Aquatics Centre to take part in the National competition on 6th July 2019.

In only it’s third year, the Combo Cup has grown rapidly to being Swim England’s largest event of the year, as well as probably the largest synchro competition in Europe.

Competing in both the 12&U Division 2 and 13-18 Division 2 categories meant the team were at the venue for most of the day preparing, walking through routines, and warming up.

First up were the 12&U swimming to Toy Story.? The girls, Alice Foster, Marisa Whitehurst, Kady Randall, Annie Lu, Sienna Oxby and Floella Dixon swam first in their category and performed a great routine with amazing lifts with Alice on top.? The complex and entertaining routine also featured amazing duets and solo?s from Marisa, Annie and Alice and they gained a great overall score of 52.5333 earning them a silver medal!

Next up were the 13-18 team who swam a great routine to music from Harry Potter.? Swimmers Holly Thompson, Evie Walker, Chiara Pozzoni, Jasmine Jones, Eva Winstanley, Katherine Whelehan, Grace Lu, Emily Jackson and Gabriella Jackson performed a great routine with some amazing lifts by Gabby & Emily and a great duet by Jasmine and Evie and solo performances by Evie and Jasmine.? The routine was packed full and gained them high marks in artistic impression and difficulty, with an overall score of 56.9667 placing them 9th out of 18 team routines.
