On the final day of the British Summer Championships, the competitors for the individual events were:
Rebecca Pearson (100BR, 100FLY), Katie Matts (100BR), Ciaran Beard-Jones (200BK), Megan Sheard (100FLY), Katelyn Bergin (100FLY), Elizabeth Harris (100FLY), Ciara Standing (100FLY), Anna Newlands (100FLY), Holly Hibbott (100FLY) and Luke Kearslake (50FLY).
The 14/16 years women’s relay team also competed, comprising Katelyn Bergin, Kiera Henley, Elizabeth Harris and Alisha Hawkins, whilst Anna Newlands, Katie Matts, Holly Hibbott, Lucy McKenzie (heats) and Emma Gage (final) swam for the 17 years/over women's relay team.
Heats
Over the course of the morning, Katie Matts posted a time of 1:11 dead to qualify fastest for the 100 m breaststroke final.
In the 100 fly, Rebecca Pearson qualified in 9th place in the 13/14 year age category. Megan Sheard swam a personal best of 1:04.63 to earn her place in the 15 years final, finishing 8th. Both Holly Hibbott and Ciara Standing qualified for the 17/18 years final in 3rd and 9th places respectively, with a personal best from Ciara of 1:02.74.
In the women's 14/16 years 400m medley relay, SM bettered their entry time by almost a second, clocking 4:28.56, but missed out narrowly on the final, finishing 12th overall.
The women's 17 years/over team swam strongly to qualify for tonight's final in 2nd place.
Finals
In the 17/18 years 100m breaststroke final, Katie Matts took gold in 1:08.99.
In the 100 fly, Holly Hibbot bagged bronze in a new personal best time of 1:00.14. Rebecca Pearson, Megan Sheard and Ciara Standing finished in 8th, 10th and 10th places respectively.
The women's senior 400m medley relay team brought SM's competition to a close in style winning gold by 3 seconds in a time of 4:08.48.
